    Craftsy offers a course called "Quilting with Rulers on a Home Machine" taught by Amy Johnson. She's also got a lot of information out via You tube and her blog "Freemotion quilting adventures.com" see the link in Tartan's post above.

    I'm doing this class and the whole concept is fantastic. I purchased the ruler foot for my Janome and made some "rulers" from foamboard. I'm ready to go to the next level and purchase "real" rulers.

    I haven't tried to actually use a ruler on the machine - but I bought the templates. It's so much easier to even mark a quilt with all the sizes. I bought the thicker ones in case I do want to try using the machine.

    You can futz a border far easier than with math or a stencil.
