Are there rulers for miniature quilts or do you use the regular size rulers measuring the size you want?

    I have a 2.5 inch square and a 4.5 inch square ruler

There are probably rulers out there, but I just use my regular ones. I have one that is just 6" by 12" which I use the most on small quilts and minis -- less plastic to move around!

I was thinking that if there was a ruler the exact size i needed, the cuts would be more accurate. Less chance of cutting on the wrong line.

If it's a specific size/shape you want, you can get a glass shop to cut plastic pieces for you.

I like the Creative Grids squares--2.5, 3.5, and 4.5" ones I use. The lines are thin, and don't create a shadow for me. (I think it's my astigmatism that bothers with the other rulers.) The also don't slip as much. I've tired using exact sizes for smaller cuts, but find I am more accurate using a little larger square as it allows more finger space for me to hold down! (LOL do I have big fingers?) Good luck!

I use my 4 x 14 for any smaller quilts that I have made. If you are paper piecing, the Add 1/8 is great for the small seam allowances that may be needed.

I was using the small 2.5 inch ruler but it slides around on the small pieces too much. I tried a 6x6 ruler and that seems to make a world of difference. The big surface area of the ruler weights down the fabric so it doesn't move when I cut.

in answer to your question there are NO specific rulers made for making mini's! YOu just have to use the smallest rulers you can find and see if you can find the ones with the 1/8" markings as mini seams should be trimmed to 1/8" instead of 1/4"!
