    Default Rummage Sale score ...

Every year our local Catholic church has a huge weekend rummage sale at the end of July; beginning of August. One has to go early or you miss great values. This year I made it early and came home with 126 quilting magazines!!! They had bundles marked $ .50! I just keep pulling bundles and spent $12.50! The retail value of all came to $527.00! I feel great! The magazines include Quiltmaker (40 of those); Quilting; American Patchwork & Quilting; Quilting Today; Quilter's Newsletter Magazine; American Quilter; Quilt; & Home Quilt Show. I know I won't make all of the quilts, but there is a wealth of information in these magazines. Since the church has the rummage sale each year, the magazines I will not be keeping will be donated to the church and they can sell them again! Guess I'll be busy reading!

That is a lovely score. And, it is a win win situation. Someone else will also be able to benefit from your find.

I think it is strange that these quilt books always seem to lose so much of their value. So much information in them.

Getting magazines is one of the things I enjoy about belonging to a guild. We have a give and take table each meeting and there is material and magazines. The magazines taken by one person one month usually reappear the next month for someone else to enjoy. Enough of the guild members subscribe or purchase magazines frequently that there is usually a good selection.
