RV Travelling - Ideas for quilters
We now have a 40 ft. Motorhome, however when we had a shorter RV I found I needed to simplify those items that made our lives simpler.....I made a sewer's tool bag, where I put all those items to have close at hand and easy to store away. I put a zipper around the bag to make it secure, so I don`t lose anything. We put the cutting mat under the mattress, along with all the larger rulers and I carried a tote or two for fabrics and other items, Walking foot, threads, buttons, various other feet, etc. I made these items I have posted pics for, and they carry a lot of things I found necessary. The front pocket I carry my wallet, bobbins, kleenex pkgs, the inside carries all the heavier items on the right hand side of the bag, and the left side those items which are less bulky, and have a total of 20 pockets, on the bottom 10 larger ones and 10 top shorter narrower along the top, and three sets of elastic across the top of the pockets, with a couple of pin cushions and hooks to attach keys. There are two pockets on the backside of the bag to hold my sewing machine manual, quilting books, and patterns, along with shorter rulers and wash away applique sheets, etc. I also take a 36`square of batting to use for a design wall and use painters tape to hold in place on my largest window. I did get to put one of the smaller totes I carry into the understorage.
