I hear what you are saying there!! I've been trying ( LOL ) to use my stash as much as possible too.

I buy fabric from the Ellsworth and Brewer Mardens and find it to be very good quality. The prices are very reasonable and they have a huge selection. They also have regular mark downs so you can find some really good buys there.

Seems like the Sanford Marden's is the place to go! I'm closest to the one in Lewiston, sometimes get out to Gray, as well. Hope they'll be just as good. :)

As far as I know, the Mardens store in Grey doesnt carry fabric, but Lewiston does. My favorites are Ellsworth, So.Portland and Waterville, always lots of choices and most of the fabric is quilt shop quality! I havnt been to the Sanford store but have heard its one of the better ones, so have fun shopping!

Thanks for the heads up. I'll try Lewiston first, I guess!

I enjoy shopping at Marden's when I visit home. I'm from Lewiston. Is the one in Auburn still there? I had great luck there. You can get fantastic deals.

The price is better at Mardens, and if you shop carefully you can get LQS quailty. I hardly ever buy at Joanne's 25 minutes away, but made a trip Monday to Scarbough almost 2 hr one way.
