Today was a glorious day. We went to an auction and DH bought me a new sewing room (and, yes, there is a 3 BR house around it! But, a dedicated,all-my-own private place to make a mess as I please...But, I hope to do it up as nicely as some I've seen on this board.

Gotta worry about the bright red carpet though....what to do?

You pull out that carpet and install a laminated floating floor, like Pergo. It cleans easily and threads don't get caught. and if you don't feel like sweeping, turn on a fan on the floor. It does magic. Enjoy your new home. Is a great feeling. Congratulations.

oh my goodness!!! Congratulations! I had to read your entry twice. The first time I thought, "how do you buy a sewing room?" I thought it might be some preset interior, like those organized closets. lol... So, congrats again. Nothing like your very own quilting spot!

I agree - a laminate or wood floor is the way to go - you could put a small nice rug in the center if you need color.

Congratulations on your new room. I always teased my children when they were at home that I would have to build my room on the roof. We live in a 2 2/1 storey brick house. Now I have all my things in a lovely bedroom. But somehow I miss the kids.
