    I work as a Cabinet maker. Could I use 150 grit or finer selfstick sandpaper from work or do I need sandpaper dots.

    I used regular sandpaper and cut them in small squares and glued them to my rulers to keep the rulers from slipping. Worked for me:)

    I'm sure that they would probably do the trick of keeping your rulers from sliding around

    That is exactly what I did and it worked great. I liked it much better than the lumpy dots you by at the LQS..

    I'd give it a try on one ruler before applying it to others. I found sand paper dots too "grabby" - I like a little slide when I'm moving my ruler along, but want it to stay put when I press down for cutting.

    My preference is Grace Co. True Grips. There are only 15 on a sheet, but I also use the little circle from the inside of the dots on smaller rulers.

    I cut my own dots (squares actually) from medium or finer grit sandpaper and use double-sided tape to hold it on. Works great!
