Does anyone have the Husqvarna Viking Sapphire 875Q - am looking at one to purchase, but since I do not have any experience with a machine like this I would like to know if anyone has had any problems with it.
    Thank you Lillian

Lillian, I don't know but have to comment on your name. My favorite Aunt is my Aunt Lil (Lillian) and I love that woman to pieces and of course, the name!!! :D

Yes, I have one - just purchased last March - this was a new experience for me too. I only used mechanical machines until I got my Sapphire 875Q - love it. I did not do the free classes because I live so far away - so I am self taught on my machine. I am still figuring out features but I absolutely love it. Make sure you know how to thread the machine - with the needle up and how to insert the bobbin thread correctly - from there its easy - because it automatically senses what tension to use on the thread - once I figured that out - it worked great. The only accessory that I bought was a walking foot - very easy to change the feet also. PM me if you have any questions. Teresa

I have the Viking 870 quilt. The 870 is a little picky, mine at least doesn't like to travel. I took her on a retreat a few weeks ago, and she didn't do well. I think she got car sick. I think Husqvarna worked out the kinks and made the 875 to replace mine. When mine doesn't travel, she sews like a dream. I love all of her functions and use her almost every day.

Thank you - I was named after a Great Aunt Lillian - she passed away before I was born.

I have a 875 and love it. I got it Oct. 09 and discovered the feed dogs wouldn't stay down when I was trying to quilt. the LQS did everything they could to fix it but couldn't so the machine was replaced. The replacement has been a dream. I too bought a walking foor and a spring action quilting foot. The Phaff(sp) machine apparently has the walking foot built into it. whatever you get, ask where the machine has to go for service. It's best to have the service done at the shop you bought it, so you won't have so much time without your machine.
    good luck

I just bought one and am looking for a user's support group. I got some free lessons, but am "saving them up" for big projects. I just have a lot of little stupid questions right now. LOL For one, how do you know if the bobbin is inserted properly? Mine won't always cut the bottom thread and I read that an improperly inserted bobbin is usually the culprit.

I bought one in May and was happy with it, but in October the automatic thread cutter button quit working so took it back in to get it fixed. They sent it off on October 18th and have yet to get it back. I checked again Friday and they said the "keyboard has to be replaced and is on backorder". I'm not very happy. I can't understand why it would have to be backordered since it was not a discontinued model and only purchashed it six months ago.

Wow - will have to check LQS and see if something like that happens if they will give me a loaner? Haven't purchased it yet, but am leaning towards it. Will do some more checking. Thank you
