Well hope I don’t jinx myself but took every thing out top and bottom, and used dental floss through all the points….so far today, it has behaved itself! 😜

I hope it continues to work for you. There is an actual manual available at https://www.husqvarnaviking.com/en-U...s/SAPPHIRE-930

Just updating this thread, as have had this problem again the last few days, I did all these tricks again, but still snapping the thread….this morning, put a spool on horizontal and the cutter is working properly for now. 😀

just a light bulb moment here when you mentioned "Horizontal" Yep that is where you should place the spool of thread if it is cross wound (where you see the little V shapes in the lay of the thread. It the thread is just stacked (thread lines are evenly wrapped around the spool like Coats and Clark) Then the spool should be on the vertical spool pin. Yep, placing the type of winding of the thread on the wrong spool pin, I can see why that might affect the thread cutter as tension and pull on the upper thread may be off.

Thanks for your comment. Sorry for the confusion, I was using the older stacked thread previously and that is why I had it vertical……but now that it is working with the Aurifil horizontal, I’m not going to jinx myself by going back to the stacked thread on vertical 🤪.

Great info on differentiating between cross wound and stacked threads. I have never been able to figure this out before. Thank you!
