I am making my first quilt and am doing the nine patch. How do I put "sashing" around each 9 patch? I'm making it for a queen size bed. Also what kind of batting. I am machine sewing the blocks.Havent worried about the quilting yet. Suggestions?

It is usually done sides first and then top and bottom. when sewing for a row begin with the leftmost block and strip each side and add a block putting the sashing on the right hand side to the end of the row. It is pretty easy if you remember left-right -top- bottom. Hope it helped
