    There's technically not the same, but I've gotten close-enough results on my old Singer Genie 353 by shrinking the length of the zig zag way down & going around the applique twice. A true satin stitch is tighter than a zig zag. Also wanted to point out to make sure to use either a poly or rayon thread for satin stitching as cotton doesn't hold up very well.
