PS... Where are the pix of the quilt? I love looking at pictures! Would love to see the coordinating stuff too...

I would give the quilt, since you made it with her in mind. What a nice gift!

Could you not give it to the mom-to-be around the last day of work? Even though Mom is going to love it, giving it at a diaper shower might be alittle overwhelming. I do agree with all the others, give the quilt, but, it's just the timing of giving such a treasured gift(JMHO)

I would go with the "diapers" for the shower. Then give the quilt when the baby is born!

I agree too that you should give her the quilt. Wrapping is a great idea. And haven't you been to showers or birthdays where certain gifts are requested or "no gifts" and people bring them anyway? I know that I have. I'm sure that she will be thrilled to have a handmade quilt.

When I give a baby quilt, I use it as wrapping around a package of diapers, and tie with blue or pink ribbon.

I say give the quilt, and do so cheerfully. Say something like we were so excited to learn you were having a baby (boy, girl) that we just got crackin' before we knew you'd have a diaper shower! Please, make sure the baby poops on it, spits up on it, rolls around with it, drags it around, loves it, and generally makes it their own!

I would give it! Something she will have for many many years, unlike the diapers! I have never given a quilt yet where they weren't thrilled to get it!
