saving scraps...how small is too small?

I was given a basket of scraps as my neighbour went back to NZ. These have been so handy over the years for scrappy quilts. I have colour-bagged them, and having added to them, have decided to go through and make as many 2" squares as I can to ease the load. My first postage stamp quilt coming up.
