    * hourglass blocks can create some nice interest, yet keep the focus on your printed fabric, giving a SIAS effect, but with a lot less work.

    * frame each with one fabric (perhaps a 1" finished) and then join together. Could use an assortment of fabrics/colours, but my first thoughts would be an assortment of black prints, to keep with the theme of the Scotties colourings, and let the red come alive!
Yes, hourglass blocks would be interesting.

I had also thought about framing with the squares. I did that recently on another project and like the effect.

    Thank you.

Looks like we are on the same quilty wavelength.
I'm anxious to see this one come together .... awesome cuteness abounds!!!
(though I would head towards a quilt, rather than pillows ... I am just not a pillow person!)

Sorry, but they are definitely destined to be in a cushion. I’ve set myself the target of making 10 or so for the local cancer charity I support. They will be sold at their Christmas coffee morning. I really need to get started on these ...

Adorable fabric. If you could find some white with black polka dot fabric for alternating blocks that would be cute and it would be nice contrast with the darker doggie blocks.
