Went on Ebay and bought a bunch of 2" squares for the fun of it - put them in a bag and pulled out two at a time and came up with a darling miniature quilt (12"/12") Trying to get over the "everything has to match" syndrome...it worked, now if I can just keep it up! Scrappy is cool!

I found a picture of a blended nine patch online. Is this what you mean, Lucille?

Is this what you are talking about?

Are you talking about the Blooming 9 patch?

I like it Corky! that is what i would think it would look like.

Cheryl, good for you girl! I have a friend who has tried to make a couple string blocks,scrappy..and she just hates it..but she always comes through for me, when i am making a quick chairty quilt to give..! lol! she is a perfectionist..and it is so hard for her to make things like this..I totally understand, mind you..but what mindless freedom to wrok on something like this! it is a nice break from the norm!

That is beautiful. You obviously can turn "a sow's ear into a silk purse"

If you have eq 6 software with block base, it is similar to 1605, with a slightly different coloration. It is called a nine patch chain. I tried to contact my friend again today to get her to send me a picture of the blocks--there are 2 that have similar coloration that blend to make the quilt. I will keep looking, and share the pattern when I get it.

I use a Mac and the interface software for EQ is too pricey for me. I do have Quilt Pro, although I haven't really become very skilled at it yet :)

I know what you mean. I am tired of PCs and would like to try a Mac, but all my software is geared to the PC.--I will send you copy of the pattern when I get it.
