You will laugh, but I keep everything that is bigger than 1x1. I love scrappy quilts and I guess I am so cheap that I would feel like I was putting money down the drain if I threw them away. I do put anything that looks less than a fat quarter in my scraps and at some point, cut into strips or squares.

Google "Garbage Can Quilt" and you will get some ideas on what to do with the tiniest scraps.

What kind of scrap quilts did you make? When you were cutting your scraps, did you have a quilt in mind as you were cutting? Thanks.

I'm glad I save so many scraps, because I've cut most of them with my AccuquiltGo, and I'm using them as starters and enders. Pretty soon, I'll have a 'free' scrappy quilt. The only scrap quilts I've made before were for my daughter from her family's old clothing. This is fun!

I actually cut several sizes of strips. 1.5, 2.0, 2.5 & 3inches. On squares, I cut 6.5, 5.5, 4.5, 3.5 and 2.5. I cut every night for about 2 weeks. No I did not have a quilt in mind...I just cut and thought one day I would just start putting them together when I got a big stack. I have the sizes stacked in shoe boxes. I love scraps.

Great ideas from everyone. Fairly new to quilting I was tossing all small pieces thinking I would never have a use for them. You changed my mind. Thanks

I keep a bin just for very large "Scraps," then other bins for the smaller scraps. Sometimes I can use the larger scraps for making small items that's why I like to separate them. 8-)

I keep everything! I also take all the scraps my quilting friends are throwing out. I'm just finishing up a 108" by 108" quilt made of 1" squares from all of these "scraps". I've been offered over $1,000 for it and it's not even quilted yet! I keep two seperate boxes of 1.5" squares and triangles to make 2" squares at all times. I cut these out when my hands are too sore to hand piece or quilt and the quilt bug is biting too hard to ignore. I'm not in a hurry, this is suppose to be a RELAXING hobby!
