    Default Scrap vortex quilt

Lately I've been looking online at various examples of the scrap vortex quilt which, I believe, was a QAL a few years ago. I love crumb quilts and have done 3 of them, though never one where the entire face of the top was just crumbs. Did any of you participate in this QAL? How did you decide which colors or values to use? Or did you just throw the whole kitchen sink at it? I started out with only neutrals and purples but then decided that was boring, so I added in some blues. It was still boring, so now it's got pinks and greens added in. At this rate I'll soon have the whole crumb basket in the thing! Maybe that's ok. What do you think?

Looked this up. First, I thought you had lost it. Second, I got hooked and printed some instructions. Now, I think I’ve lost it.

This one from 2015? Crazy Mom Quilts?
    https://crazymomquilts.blogspot.com/...-week-one.html

I saved it and -hanging head in shame- I forgot about it.
Maybe the second quilt project for me this year? I certainly have enough crumbs to make several.
    Hmmm
    I agree....use em all up.

maybe one red, one blue, one yellow....

    Hahaha
I've lost the marbles...not the crumbs.

Didn't print instructions but will be making at least 1 to use up some scraps BUT it will have plain sections so as to not be so busy. HATE anything that my eyes cannot rest at places so I'm putting in some plain sections--most likely a few white blocks throughout the quilt.

Whoa, that's one busy quilt. But I like it! The more colors the better.

Looks like fun to me! I have a grocery bag of scraps from fall and holiday quilting projects. I might give this a try just to get them out of my way.and to prevent them from multiplying in the night. I might also toss in some 2.5" squares that have been in my collection for years and never seem to leave.

Has any one blended in small orphan blocks tossed randomly? I have small HSTs and small stars and quarter square triangles that need homes too. Hummmm?

I love that idea! I've thought of perhaps even cutting up orphan blocks to make them look more random rather than like a pattern.
