don't limit yourself to patterns that just use squares. You can break them up into lights and darks and match a light to a dark, draw a diagonal line on the back and stitch 1/4" on both sides of the drawn line. Cut them apart and trim up and you should end up with two 3 1/2" HST that will finish at 3". You have so many more options for patterns with the HST added to the squares.

The math is incorrect. 12 squares up and 12 squares down would give you 144 squares, and would measure only 42" square if put together as 3.5" finished squares, less if put together as triangles. Your math used 30 squares (105") by 50 squares (175"), which would be 1500 squares altogether.

You can simply sew the together as was suggested but you could also turn them into half square triangles and lay out in a barn raising pattern. This may "soften" the intense scrappy look. I have made several like this with different sized squares. They always turn out lovely. Sorry no photo, but google barn raising if you are not familiar with it.

So jealous of your dilemma! lol, Since I love making scrappies, I would love to be in your shoes and have your "problem" of how to use up that treasure of blocks!!!
A pattern I really like, if you have some stash you could add is Arkansas Crossroads.
No matter which pattern you decide to use, I am sure it will be lovely and hope you share the results with us.
