Absolutely spectacular quilt! It's like looking at a collection of gemstones.

    Beautiful! Thank you for posting!

Wow! Beautiful jewel tones. A black or dark grey will frame this beautifully. I feel adding more color would detract from the quilt body. Stunning.

I think a narrow black/dark border to stop the action of the quilt blocks, then if you want a scrappy border, use piano keys border with all the colors in the quilt and maybe add a black key now and them to touch the narrow black border, it would be stunning; beautiful so far!

If the pattern has a name I'm not sure what it is. I didn't use a pattern, I just did up and drawing and started sewing.

Actually the planning was quite easy. The black is also scraps and they were cut at 1" to finish at .5" The center is 60" x 72"

Oh, yes, I think a black border is all that is needed to frame this gorgeous quilt.
The sewing of the blocks was totally random. If the strip I pulled was long enough to fit I used it. The 3D look just happened.

Did you have to be careful as to how you placed the color strips to get the 3D effect or does it just work out? This quilt was love at first sight for me. Thanks!
