What size pieces qualify for your scrap bin?

Lately 1" wide, I've been making lots of crumb quilts.
1 1/2" wide makes log cabin blocks.
The size of scrap that gets the most use is 2 1/2" .
The picture is my crumb quilt. It was lots of fun to make the blocks.

    1 1/2"+ strips
    2" X 2" + scraps

anything smaller goes into a separate container that I will make fabric paper out of :D:D:D

My scrap bin usually has anything less than 12 X 12". Some people put anything less than 1/4 yard. When I want to applique a flower or other odd bit, my scrap bin is the first place I go.

if it is left over from what i am working on it is a scrap. if it is yardage i fold it and put it away, if it is less than a fq i 'scrap-it' larger than a fq i usually fold & put away.

Lately I've been keeping everything. Even the trimmings from squaring up blocks. I'm trying the garbage can fabric idea to do a Christmas tree wall hanging.
