I like the clover flat one if I am picking out a few stitches. If its a long seam I pick a few then switch to my absolute favorite mini seam ripper that I buy by the dozens from tooltron.com. The used to be $1 a nd I see mow they are $1.50. Still a bargain. The tool is essential when ripping out a paper Ed seam. Our guild also bought 100 for guild members to have. When I teach paper piecing I always give one to each person.

Love my Clover for quilting. Have 2 heavy duty ones that I use for my alterations and repairs. Every once in a while I grab my Clover and use it on a repair...then run to the LQS and buy a new one as I end up snapping the tip off. Someone bought me a set of the Pro Seam Ripper with picker and ripper. Not a fan as its easy to cut the fabric with them.

I have 4-5 that came with machines, worthless since they all are dull. Actually they should be completly worn down to the handle as much as I rip things apart. I like my Gingher best.

    I have (3) right now.

Fons and Porter (best one yet in comparison to all others I've owned).
    Walmart Brand
And special machine accessory brand which is plain Jane generic.

Clover flat handle, fold up (German brand. Don't have it handy to get the manufacture). I always wonder why seam rippers don't have a hole in the handle so they can be tied to something and hung up.

I have several seam rippers but I usually end up using my rotary cutter(same as Eleanor Burns- Quilt in a Day). It's usually setting near by and so much faster.....

My favorite stitch ripper is a half a pair of embroidery scissors (lost the screw) - the point picks and the blade slices right down the seam (if I'm lucky)

When I can't find one of the 1/2 scissors, my favorite stitch ripper is the other stitch ripper I can't find... The one with the big wooden handle someone made just for me..... or maybe the expensive one with the silver handle that I lost... and sew on.

I think that's the Fons and Porter and I have that one. Just love it, but it, too, is getting duller as I look at it! So that is next on my list. Also the cheap one from the grocery store is really great. Edie

I have 4. The best one is one with a long wooden handle as it is easy to hold.
