Does any one know how to secure the quilt before sewing? I thought about buying a quilting frame, is that a good idea?

    Thanks, Pearl

Whether you buy a frame or not, you need to pin baste or baste with thread before you start so your layers don't slip around on you. Pin with safety pins or baste with the thread pretty close together (3-4 inches apart). Remove the pins as you sew. Start in the center and work your way to the edges. Secure the backing fabric on a table or the floor, then layer the batting and top. Then pin/baste. Are you going to machine quilt or hand quilt?
