I use warm and natural and Quilters Dream cotton for handquilted quilts as they both needle great. Learned my lesson on MT. Mist batts with the first quilt I ever made,as didn't read the directions on their package. The first time I washed it I had batting in all 4 corners as I had tied the center and hand quilted 14 inches of borders.
I hadn't tied it close enough together and when washed it all seperated. I cried a lot, especially when MT Mist rep told be to rip out all my stitching and start over. They sent me 3 pages of directions and to this day I don't use Mountian Mist.
