I give all mine away. Most people don't want to pay you what they are worth. The answer I usually get when I tell someone what it would cost to make them a quilt is, "I can get one at WalMart for $39, how come your charge so much?"

No I haven't and wouldn't want to. It would make my passion seem too much like a job :)

I do custom order quilts as home business. I give many as gifts as well. I have had many people ask why I charge so much. I found a breakdown of cost at different hourly rates... I think it was on this site... and now my clients understand a little better.

Exactly -- I don't want to have to feel like making quilts is work!
