I make a lot of quilts for Linus and lap robes for nursing homes using my serger and the "Six Hour Quilt" pattern book. The reversible quilts can be done on domestic or serger.

I've never done a quilt on my serger but use it to finish the edge of all my fabrics before washing. Helps prevent fraying.

I believe Cutebuns made a tutorial on making a quilt with the serger not too long ago. Found it.

Once you use a serger you will wonder how you ever made it without one. I love mine. I have not made a quilt with it, however, I ran across a pattern for one the other day and I may try it. It would be faster stitching and there would be not ravaling at all. Just have to be sure to mark with tape of some kind the 1/4 inch seam allowance. Good luck!!!
