    feed dog down stitch length sould not come into play at all.

    I always believed that how fast I move my hands and how heavy I lay my foot on the pedal determines the stitch length, with the feed dogs down. To me the issue is to determine the look I like for the stitching. Figure out how fast to go to get that look and you will have the stitch length. Mine usually hovers around 9 or 10 stitches per inch. Yes, I measured....
