Dagny - I remember that sprinkler thing - we use to do the same thing. And now you have your own.

I had a cumbersome amount of fabric to press also, and I was thinking about those little devices that used to be around in the 50's or so that were attached to the top of a pop bottle and used to sprinkle clothes before they were ironed. Mom used to sprinkle everything and place it in the refrigerator overnight and then iron it the next day.

I took the lid off of a water bottle and used the smallest drill bit I could find to drill a number of tiny holes in the lid and then used it to sprinkle my fabric. Boy did that make the job easier.
What a great idea! Thanks for sharing.

Brilliant minds think alike. While ironing I was thinking how we use to sprinkle the clothes and ball them up for a while before ironing. Of course, that was when we had to iron.

AND -- if you weren't going to get to them right away - you put them in the refrigerator until the next day.

Just came back from a week away, so first I am putting away the fabrics I bought. Scored at Joanne's yesterday too, so had a bunch to shelve. Then I went out to weed a garden which got way ahead of me last week. As I pulled, I thought about the parallels between gardening and quilting: they are both WIPs and UFOs! Tomorrow is my BD, #64! Will likely cook out with family and the grands in the afternoon. Maybe sew an apron in the morning after I go to the flea market with my GF. Nice to have a relaxing day. Hope you all enjoy the holiday and remember to thank a veteran or someone in the service.

Do you mean after you iron them or see if he notices them in the refrigerator. He is liable to think you have lost your mind. LOL

I use to live in Portage, Mi. My son was born in Kalamazoo
~ so I know that there really is a Kalamazoo. Loved that place, it was a fantastic place to raise children.
