As to receipe it is the same as a pineapple upsidedown cake but you add orange slices to the pineapple slices and put cherries in the middle.

I think I am going to take Memorial Day off of quilting. I have had a really rough week where quilting is concerned and I don't want to get burned out. My sewing room is in the basement and I want to be outside in the sunshine. It has been horribly windy here and the wind has finally died down. I am so grateful for all the men and women in uniform, past and present, that have sacrificed so that I can be outside enjoying my family. I will make sure and think of them tomorrow.

I got 3 of my 6 funky houses done this morning as well as joining together another two rows of my daughters BFF quilt. This is her first quilt so she's making the blocks and sewing them together, but joining the rows is a bit overwhelming for her so I am glad to give her a hand. We get to spend some quality time together sewing :) :) :)

I am back from shopping - (bought nothing - GRRR) and I have wasted my morning. I hate wasting my time. Oh well!!
I am back working on my Autumn Splendor quilt. Blocks are all done - Now I have to lay them out and put them together.

Decided to wash & iron my $3.00 stash from Fri. It feels like I've been on my feet all day! No sewing done today, still have more to iron. :(

Kwilkrazy - the pattern I am working on I bought at the Quilter's Cove in Newport, Oregon - is that near you? Love that quilt store.

    They're mysteries if... you don't peek...But... I PEEK!

Then, I can Honor and sew... all at the same time.

    Multi-tasker! That is me!!! >
I mentioned this elsewhere but will share it here also. I decided to use Memorial Day weekend to make quilts for CitizenSAM (see http://citizensam.org), which is similar to Quilts of Valor.

I am dogsitting while my son is camping out of state, so I am more or less housebound. I have a CD of military marches playing in the background and I'm humming right along. So far, I have two tops completed and am halfway through the third. Great fun!!

I had a cumbersome amount of fabric to press also, and I was thinking about those little devices that used to be around in the 50's or so that were attached to the top of a pop bottle and used to sprinkle clothes before they were ironed. Mom used to sprinkle everything and place it in the refrigerator overnight and then iron it the next day.

I took the lid off of a water bottle and used the smallest drill bit I could find to drill a number of tiny holes in the lid and then used it to sprinkle my fabric. Boy did that make the job easier.
