in home ec I put the needle through my pinky twice.... teacher almost passed out. It was worth it! LOL. Don't remember the healing process at all. Dr is a good idea. Puncture wounds close fast around bacteria! Good luck

I came this close one time - . The needle slid off my finger nail as I was feeding pieces to sew. My heart just stopped I got so scared, that was over 25 years ago. I've been careful ever since. Knock on wood.

Dont feel bad, I did the exact same thing. Only I looked up at the TV. The needle broke off in two also, and I had to pull the threaded half of needle back through my finger. The Dr. looked at the Needle pieces and it was a clean break. No infection, etc. but it hurt bad for so long. I feel sorry for you cause it hurts. Hope your finger feels better soon. HUGS TO YOU!!!!!
In the last year I have also had the needle catch the tip of my nail and finger 3 times. You would think I would learn and pay attention.NOOOOOT.. All the time in the index finger of left hand.

i did that when i was 6 years old on my GM treadle she came and backed it out and took me to the doctor. i have never forgotten that and never will. when we got back to her house she sat me down in front of the machine and had me sewing again right away so i could get over my new found fear.

hope you heal fast, i know it must hurt really bad. sorry it happened. HUGS

I hope you heal fast and I'm glad you didn't get any blood on your fabric.

Yes, I did it too with the zig zag going....my left middle finger went under....sure was a terrible shock when it happened too.....got tetanus shot the same day...took a while to heal...really am cautious now....good luck on the healing..was back in 74...did get a lit blood on husband shirt i was making him, but immediately got it out...was more concerned with all the work i had done on it..then took care of finger..I know that sounds goofy but i had put a whole lot of work into that shirt.
