Sewing Cabinet (how to adjust)
I recently got a 15-91 and it came with a sewing cabinet, specifically a No. 40 Cabinet (Queen Anne Style). Overall it seems to be in good shape however I noticed the left leaf is not actually level when it is folded out (it angles towards the ground slightly). It's enough of a lean that I would like to try to see if I could adjust it. Has anyone done this type of work before? Would the best approach to try to install some sort of support arm? There doesn't currently seem to be one on the table but I did notice a pin on that side that seemed a bit suspicious and where an arm might have been at one point.

I don't have that cabinet, but have a couple of others that have a leaf spring that pops out from below the top piece when you lift the lid. One of mine needs to have the spring replaced I have to pull it out or push it in.
The part would look like https://www.ebay.com/itm/1941-Singer...p2047675.l2557 or

Unfortunately, the first one has ended.

Thanks! This is actually incredibly helpful. Now that I see the part, I can see the screw plate almost exactly matches with a screwplate that is existing on the underside of my cabinet top. I'm just completely missing the arm part. The only part that is a little unclear to me, is where would I place a spring? Or is this possibly a version where no spring is used?

I have a sewing cabinet I bought new several years. The leaf was starting to sag towards floor. Since I have a short file cabinet sitting under it. Three or so years ago my Husband and I screwed two 2x4s together made two and I stand them on edge to hold the leaf level. They can't be seen.

The tab looks to be a stop for the arm per https://pappp.net/?p=1315

Circling back on this topic. I finally fixed my cabinet although it was a bit of a saga. Short story, I not only have a arm now, but also have the feature where it springs out when opening the leaf. Long story: https://codecatcorner.com/singer-adv...ort-arm-repair
