sewing in cars
#3
It would make me nervous after reading about the experience of a quilter who was in an accident. Everything was stowed as she was on the way to a workshop, but so many of the containers burst open upon impact and she said she was finding small things (pins etc) for weeks.

I would not attempt any kind of machine sewing in a car. I have been known to do hand stitching, hexi's and the like or even a binding from time to time. I have a little carry kit that has everything I need for hand piecing when traveling.

No way I'd use a machine. It would be handy to set the various pieces for hand sewing. They always seem to find their way onto the floor or side of the seat. As long as there is a lip. I sometimes use the glove box lid.
