Sewing Class

I am so glad she is learning this, because as you all are saying they dont teach it in school anymore, when I was in junior high I think I had like a few weeks where they taught us how to make a hat? That was my only sewing experience till I started my quilting a few months ago! I am so glad I did!

Great job, Racquel!! You are just the age I was when Mom let me begin to use her sewing machine. I must have made 100 pair of toddler panties that first year. Then I got to high school and learned to follow a pattern for clothing and I was hooked for life. I hope you'll enjoy it and continue for the rest of your life. I had learned to hand embroider at about age 6. We didn't have much but we always had thread and needles. They will get you through a lot of boredom and you'll have a gift for every birthday and holiday.
Keep it up and do share your fun with us.

Good for you, Racquel!!! Sewing is so much fun!!! I used to teach beginning sewing classes for kids each summer at the quilt shop I used to work at. I never heard "I can't" from the kids but I heard it from adults everyday. Kids are willing to try something new and love the finished results. You go girl!!

It is a good thing for young girls to know how to sew because that way they can make their own clothes and quilts and any thing they want to, please keep up the good wook Rachel and mom. It is very sad that schools no longer teach classes like this for kids to look forward to.
