Sewing with clear plastic
I could use some tips on sewing with the clear plastic. The thin stuff that you might use with a tote or cosmetic bag. What size needle have you used and had success. Thanks in advance for your tips, help and advice.

I like a fine microtex needle maybe a 70 no more than 80, and a Teflon foot. If you do not have a Teflon foot try covering the sewing line on the plastic with tissue paper. You could also cover the bed of the machine with the tissue and put the plastic against the tissue. Good Luck.

Yes I was trying to sew thru the plastic. I had fabric on bottom then another piece of fabric that was to be covered with the plastic like a pocket. I was trying to top stitch the pocket down. It of course would not stay in place. The tissue paper sounds like a great idea and I have both tissue and parchment on hand. I will also check the needle size, I think I was using around the size mentioned above. Thanks again. I knew I could get some good advice here.

The picture did not come out clear the last time I posted and I do not know whether it will this time. This is what I was making. The picture in the front Is a needlecase with the clear vinyl over the front. It is made like a seed packet. So I was trying to topstitch the seed packet to the top layer of the needlecase. The paper might have helped but it woud have been hard to see if I was sewing straight. Maybe the tape over that edge would have worked good. This is my pc and needle case swap for this month.
