My husband built mine. It is a l-shaped table. My machine sits down into it so it is flush. I can put a full size mat to the left of the machine. On the long leg to the right I have a small TV, my computer, a radio and a letter stacker for my 'office work' I have two sets of three drawers. One of the top drawers (on the left) is a pull out drawer with ironing board. I confess that I don't use that much because I need to move around so as not to be as sedentary. I also go upstairs whenever I need the bathroom (again to move around.). If I would do it again I would have him make a drawer for thread in the place of the ironing board. One really nice feature is that the two legs of the 'L' is that they can be taken apart for moving. And, we have moved several times since he built it. He used plywood and not compressed wood. It is my prized possession.

Hi, Peaceandjoy. I understand your concern, but what I've found as a 58 year old woman, I do not like the dark wood on my cabinet. I need the white, as the incoming white sun light reflects back up to me. Our vision diminishes over the age of 30 and I require as much light as possible, even from my cabinets. Best of luck to you on the purchase that meets your requirements.
