I have 7 machines, but the only one that is named is my Singer 15-91. Her name is Sue, after the lady who originally owned her.

My "not tooooo expensive" Singer Stylist that I got last year is Miss Shear Pleasure. That's what she gives me - I sit down and sew, watch the critters, human or otherwise, weather, , mailman, whatever, pass by my window and I am in Heaven. I love my little corner, my sewing machine and my new acquisition, my Yamaha 310, a keyboard - and depending on my mood, I can play the piano, the organ (I love the hymns) or 400 and some different sounds!!!!! And all not even getting up from my chair! My cousin calls me the Yamaha Grandmama!!!!

I have three machines, first White that my husband gave me used on our first anniversary, which was in 1961, the second was a Singer, the third was a White that was my mother's and the fourth is Miss Shear Pleasure, none of which I could ever part with.

I have two FW's, a Bernina 930, a Singer Golden Touch, my mother's old dress head singer that was a treadle she converted to electric, when I was small. Then Sat. I purchased a make a make over treadle or something for $30.00. I have no idea what it actually should be called, The machine is a Singer and in a cabinet that lifts off of the treadle portion, both the machine and the treadle section have Singer stamped on them I know it isn't an antique, but a reproduction I guess. I have no idea if the machine works it looks new, but I can't try it out just yet, I broke my left foot in August and I'm still having problems with it. None f my machines have names, I just don't name things

My featherweight is "Granny", my white featherweight is "Pearl" and my Pfaff Creative Sensations is "Smarty Pants". These are the ones I use, but I have others I haven't named, they are here "just in case" or a friend talks me out of one. They will only go to friends who love the old featherweights. I sold one to a Bee Buddy, and she named her machine "Juliet"......

My 830 Bernina is named Lucy. Her smaller (Bernina 220) sister is Lavender. I haven't named my serger as yet, but will.

I have only named my vintage machines. I don't know why but they seemed to deserve a name.
