Default Sewing machine repair near Napa, Ca? Help! Kenmore is sick!

    I've had this one for a year. It's a TriSpan 88 made in 1959.

I ran it hard. FMQ 2 quilts very heavily. Pieced at least half a dozen. Quilted a few. Did all kinds of mending. Made potholders, table runner, placemats and some garments and lots of paper piecing. It's been a workhorse!

Something went wrong with the timing, so Kenny needs to go to the hospital.

Anybody know a good place near Napa, Ca?

    Thanks for looking.

You might check in with the LQS in the area and see if they can give you a reference. I haven't been up in Napa for over two decades. Don't remember any shops. Good Luck. So sorry your favorite is ill.

I know it is not near to Napa but Dublin Sewing in Dublin CA has done wonders on my Kenmore.

    Thanks everyone.

    Maybe I just panicked.

I was in hurry finishing the last couple of projects.

    Birds nested and needles broke....

I'm wondering if I put the bobbin stuff in wonky or something.

I went over it just to be sure before I drag it to the shop.

I soaked the bobbin area in a WD40 type thing and cleaned and oiled really good.

I carefully replaced it all after sanding off nicks, changed the needle again and it seems to be working now.

It didn't look all that dirty though.

    Weird...

What good news that you have it working now! Good job. (and what a relief, huh?)

Yes. I do just about everything on that machine unless I'm in the middle of quilting.

At those times I always have a spare set up for mending.

If I had one of those I would not work it to death. There aren't many of them around and parts will be very difficult to find.

It's my go to machine for quilting. I can go from piecing to quilting without goofing around with tension. I just set stitch length at zero and switch feet.

    I'll be more careful.

One thing I really need to be mindful of is the TriSpan feature-always make sure my needle is in the middle. I sometimes set it to the right for the elusive scant quarter inch seam.
