    Bernina is too expensive for me so went with a Viking Sapphire and love it.
    Most importand feature for me is the needle down that lifts the foot just a little when you stop sewing.
    Also like the 10 in throat area.
    I bought the cheapest embroidery machine I could find because I only use it for red work.
    It is a Brother and cost 300 dollars. Only a 4 in design area but that is perfect for a 6 in block. Have made a baby quilt with teddy bears and a table topper with leaves, both are great.
