Sewing and Quilting Expo in Schaumburg, IL
#1
Is anybody going to the expo this weekend? I'm going tomorrow with a friend and we are staying the night. I'm about an hour south of there, but with the price of gas we figured it's cheaper to stay the night. I've never been to one, and can't wait. Be great to meet up with some of you!

I'm going to try to go tomorrow, God willing. Hope the traffic isn't bad to/from Chicago. Fridays are short school days for my kids. Hoping to see a selection of hand quilting frames and choose one to buy. Maybe an irresistable deal on a machine for my Mom.

I went to the show today and really enjoyed it. I expected more display quilts but it seemed the show was dominated by vendors.
My Visa card got a good workout, LOL! I bought a kit from the Bigfork Bay Cotton Company. I have admired their applique kits for some time on the web, but never saw them before.
A woman from Oregon was selling pre-cut batik pieces to make Log Cabin blocks. I bought enough for a quilt. The fabrics were really beautiful.
I listened to a presentation on quilting tips and techniques, but it was really a vendor trying to sell her gadgets. A disappointment.
There were many machines and long arms on display. The show was very crowded when I got there at 11:30am but fairly empty by 2:30pm. Three hours was enough for me.
Have fun!
