Sewing or quilting shows on TV

RFD channel carries Eleanor Burns on Wednesdays - 12:30pm and 10:30pm which I find as reasonable times. I also get F/P and Sewing with Nancy on PBS stations on Saturday, and several others on Create weekdays at 10am. I do really miss America Sews with Sue Hausman though. Nancy Zieman has almost all of her shows online at Wisconsin television site.

Wish the DIY's and the HGTV would wise up! How many times in this economy can you stand to watch someone demolish a $60,000 bathroom, just to install a $70,000 bathroom. Do these people know they're millions of people out there that are losing their homes! What ever happened to shows like "Carol Duvall" etc.? I used to get quilting and craft shows on the BYU channel, but my cable did away with it.

My complaint with PBS is that they don't have the variety of quilt shows that they used to. I used to see Kaye Woods & Georgia Bonesteel & it seems like maybe Shar Jorgenson... lots of different quilters. I like Fons & Porter & Sewing with Nancy (when she has quilting stuff) but the Quilting Arts doesn't do much for me.

I was very disappointed when HGTV took off Simply Quilts. Everything I watch now is on PBS but most of them are not as satisfying as Simply quilts was. I do have Eleanor Burns Quilt in a Day, Fons and Porter Love of Quilting, Quilting Arts and Sewing with Nancy.
I remember when HGTV and Discovery channel had several sewing/crafting type shows. Now as you say it it all 'real estate' related: House Hunters, Property virgins, home renovations etc..
Although I know that many shows can be seen on the computer, I don't enjoy watching them on my computer. I sit at a computer all day and the last thing I want to do when I get home is sit in front of another computer. I used to tape Simply quilts and turn it on while I was quilting. If something really interesting came on, I would stop sewing and watch the program.

Add me to the list of people who miss having quilting shows on tv. In our market PBS has Pokey Bolton (yuck) and Sewing With Nancy. Unfortunately, the quilting shows by Nancy are on their third go-round. I long for the days of Eleanor and Fons & Porter. Thanks to those above who have provided links to online shows!

Here in Coastal Georgia with Direct TV we catch PBS out of South Carolina (ETV) Saturday mornings which has Fons & Porter and Nancy Zimmerman from 8 a.m. until 9a.m.
We have PBS in Georgia but unfortunately they don't carry those shows.
I have recently found CRAFT WARS sponsored by Michaels on Direct TV but forget what channel that is on. My 10 year old grand daughter told me about that one so I record it for her.
