Sewing Room Floor

Be happy you don't have what I have - dark purple carpet! It was here when we bought the house and I cant justify replacing this high quality carpet. The previous owner was a crazy Minnesota Vikings fan. It is a bugger to keep tidy!

I have laminate flooring and love it!!!!! We live in Florida and the sand down here just grinds away at a carpet and with my lung problem the flooring we replaced it with is wonderful. Easy to keep and I can go barefoot in my sewing room w/out worrying about pins and needles. Use a swiffer dry mop and vinegar water for mopping.

I have carpet too, and don't like it. My chair is hard to roll and pins and needles get lost in it. My DH is usually the on who finds lost pins by stepping on them. Serves him right since he doesn't wear his slippers. He thinks I drop them on purpose. I would love tile, but I'm afraid it would be too cold. Hard wood is my second choice. Probably won't have either, since the carpet is only 5 years old.

When we had our home built in 2005, we couldn't afford wood flooring. So we went with carpeting throughout except in the baths & kitchen. First I replaced the carpet in my sewing studio with laminate wood flooring. Then we put the same kind & Colorado in the living room and 3 bedrooms. Then we put tile in the Florida room. I love the wood. It is easy to clean and I can see the threads, pins & whatever else I drop. We also have 2 poodles & the laminate wooddoes not scratch like real wood. So I vote for wood.

I completely redid my sewing room and ripped out the 70's shag carpet then refinished the hardwood floor underneath....best idea I ever had!.....I can run the broom over the floor in 30 seconds and am done......no more pins hiding in the carpet for me to step on!
