    Silicone spray here also--works great! I don't spray it onto the machine. I spray it onto a paper towel and then wipe it on the machine bed--needle plate and all. I bought the kind used in the sewing industry from amazon.com. The shipping was more than I wanted to pay, but the price was good. So it worked out ok. Couldn't find it locally anyway.

    Thankyou!! I think I will try the silicon oven mat. My singer clone Hugo is in an old treadle base and its a little rough for free motion. No spinters but doesn't let fabric slide around that easily.
