Sharp Pins
#21
I am a glass head pin fan myself, but I do find a use for a bit heavier pin for seams or other bulkier places. I bought a pack of button head pins just for show in a gifted pin cushion. I know I got them at JoAnns. They were sharper than my flower headed pins but about the same weight. Now I keep both the blue glass headed pins and the button pins next to my sewing machine.

I use the Clover extra-fine patchwork pins (0.4mm thick - very thin!). You can get them from a number of places online, including Connecting Threads. http://www.connectingthreads.com/too...hworkPins.html
If you want a longer thin pin, buy the flower head pins which have all blue flowers. One side of the flower is light blue and the other is dark blue. Those are 0.45 mm thick, so they are in-between the 0.4 mm and the 0.5 mm in thickness.

I love the Clover thin patchwork pins 0.4mm that have the clear yellow and blue glass heads on them. I made a mistake when ordering the last time and got the Clover patchwork pins which are 0.5mm. These have a solid yellow and dark blue glass head on them. They are very sharp and I use them for areas that are more bulky as they bend less easily so all was not lost. If you want a very sharp thin pin however pay closer attention than I did and order the Clover thin patchwork pins 0.4mm. you won't be disappointed.
