    Thumbs up sharps container

We have a leaky thermos and I hated to just throw it out. But it was taking up precious cabinet space. So I took it to my sewing room, in hopes that it could be used to hold trash or spools of thread or bobbins or *something*! I found that it makes a perfect sharps container for needles and pins. Just open the spout and toss it in! If it's something bigger, I can open the lid, but this will last a long long time between emptying!! My husband also uses the old-timey razors and instead of putting them in the slot behind the mirror (which falls between the walls!), he can start using my thermos (which was his thermos anyway!) Lucky my sewing room is across from his bathroom!

Good idea. I have been using an empty Eclipse gum container for old pins and rotary blades.

I actually use my sharps container that is for my used lancets and needles from my insulin. But your thermos is a good idea. AND....I never knew that that slot was for inside the medicine cabinet and now I know.

Good idea! Unfortunately, no thermos, I just use old pill containers that have childproof caps.

Good idea! As someone who updated a bathroom where the wall was full of old razor blades, you have made a wise decision!

Great idea!! I don't have an old thermos, but use old pill bottles that I label to let folks know there are sharp things in it.

What a good idea for needles and pins. When Walmart had school supply's on sale, I had purchased a bunch of the narrow plastic pencile boxes. I use one of those for my used rotary blades. I wrote what is in it and it is high on a shelf so the grandson can't get into it. Works great to just open and snap shut. I hate the idea of just tossing them in the garbarge.

I use an old prescription bottle for my old sewing needles too. Never heard of putting old razors in the slot of a medicine cabinet. I asked DH about it and he thought I was crazy.
