I would put a small sleeve to accomate say a 1"pole, hand stitch it on and then mount the pole hangers on the wall and hang that way. If you have any of the backing fabric left over then it would hardly be noticeable. This will keep the top fram having any sagging issues and then down the road if she wants to use it as a quilt on a bed she could just remove the sleeve or leave it there.

another 'inexpensive way' is to use carpet tacking on the wall the full length you are hanging and CAREFULLY place the binding to sit onto the tacking

I have used binder clips on the quilt and the loops then are hung on push pins or nails in the wall.

This is what I would do also. The sleeve will not interfere with using it as a quilt.

I agree. I do this and then hang them on the cheapest cafe rod that will hold the weight of the quilt. Make sleeve 2" shorter on each side of edge of the quilt. Buy rod to fit the sleeves width so that it will not show from the front.
