    Default shirtings

Does anyone have a good source of old fashioned shirtings? You know the ones used for men's or women's shirts back in the day. Thanks for any help.

    Try quiltshops.com (http://search.myquiltshops.com/cgi-s...myqssearch.cgi)
When the page loads, type in "shirting" and ask for "thumbnails" to see pictures of many, many reproduction shirting fabrics; there are over 10 pages from multiple different quilt shops.

Consider checking out thrift stores for shirts which can be cut up for quilts. Bonnie Hunter has a book, Scraps and Shirttails with directions for making large quilts. www.Quiltville.com

Now, why didn't I think of that, I advise others to do that! Thank you.

Quilttiger, I know others do that but I kinda am the sort that hates cutting up useful objects. Just me. Thank you though for the thought.

Thanks for the source for shirtings - no one in the area carries that type of fabric.
