    Default Shopping freeze for fabric

Buying an unhemmed fleece throw doesn't count as fabric, right? If so I made it 21 days without buying fabric. Didn't realize how much my recreational shopping involved fabric. Big lots, tuesdaymorning, goodwill and now Ross are off the store lists.

I haven't shopped for fabric in about 6 months, mainly due to lack of funds. I have made it my goal to use up my scraps and make several quilts from them. I will be shopping for fabric soon for my son's wedding quilt, but I am going to consider that quilt as their present, which I would have to buy anyway so like your fleece, I'm saying it doesn't count. It's been so long I am starting to feel withdrawal symptoms. Hope if we ever get to file our taxes I can use part of refund for some fabric.

I joined a BOM just so I can go to the shop and feel and look at what is new. I spent the weekend looking at the magazines but that didn't help.

Using up fabric I have is not a good reason for me to stop buying fabric I like. Stash shopping is just part of my quilting and I have accepted that.

I almost bought some star wars fabric on line at Joanns....but I did not....it was Star Wars great price but...I have so much fabric in my house....much more that I was aware of...I opened one of my closet upstairs and found another plastic bin full...and I know I have much more...the sewing room is full. What was I thinking...I am trying to not buy any this year...so far so good. I did need some white fabric and my husband cleaned out his closet and gave me a bunch of white 100 percent cotton shirts...

It's hard to stop shopping completely but sounds like you are doing good.

The month is almost finished, yeah. I only fell off the wagon once. BUT, we leave for vacation on Saturday, and we stop at all the thrift stores where we stay. Oh No, maybe there will be no fabric.

I have plenty of fabric but not plenty of money, so I'm not spending any on fabric right now, either. However, I got two gift certificates for Joann's for Christmas, and first one went at the New Year's sale. I'm trying to hold on to the other one to maybe use online when there's free shipping or something. I don't dare go to the store or that second card would be used up for sure!
