I needed a few things to go with what I already had in order to complete some WIPs. I had a really old Tonga Treat and was hoping to find another one so I could make a larger sized lap quilt. I finally found one and the price was $40 with a shipping charge of $13 and I thought no way can I spend that. I kept looking and finally hit on Hancock's of Paducah. They had one on sale for $19.99 that complimented the original and shipping was $5.95. I then found a layer cake I needed on sale at Etsy for $25 with shipping of $5. I was looking a couple of charm packs and was amazed at the difference in shipping which ranged from $2.60 to $12.00 an I decided to put off buying them. I then looked for a Sweetwater Reunion jelly roll and found only two which were on Esty. One was $60 and the other was $100! Needless to say I wasn't buying those! It really pays to keep searching!

Very true!! Sometimes I check several different places before I buy. The same thing on Fabric.com can be much cheaper on Ebay. Recently I bought some GI Joe for $1 yard as a daily special from Marshall Dry Goods Wholesale that was on Amazon for $7.99 a yard. Yes I did have to buy a whole 10 yard bolt from Marshall (I actually bought 2 bolts ) but after I saw the price difference I couldn't buy from Amazon. I will use the fabric up with my donation quilts easily.

Another resource is quiltshops.com you can input what you're looking for and it will list shops where it's available. You're able to comparison shop the prices as well.

I agree that I learn a lot from this Board. It is almost like taking a free quilting class with a bunch of friends. Yeah!
