Yay! I know you will enjoy that machine.
Among others I have the Exceed 400..and I LOVE it! I actually love it as much if not more than my Janome 7700..If it had the 11" bed on it, I know I would love it more...
Whoever said we're enablers here on QB to buying more machines, I laughed, and agreed...

Its always good to have a spare machine. Sewing machines break down sometimes and then they will be in the shop for at least a week and you will be without. I also use both my machines often, I keep a walking foot on one and a regular foot on the other when I am working on a project. Keeps me from having to change feet and settings .Go for it while you have the chance

IMHO, you can never have too many machines (I have 13). $500 for a one year old machine which has been gently used and has been cleaned and serviced by a knowledgeable serviceman sounds like a good deal to me, and I suggest grabbing it. It is a bonus that you have sewn on it and like it.
I suggest you keep the 2010. If it is lighter and portable, it will make a good class / retreat machine. Or, if the F400 has to go into the shop for some TLC, you will still have a machine to sew with.
