Absolutely!! You could make a pocket and put the label in it.

Many competitions do not want the creator identified on the the piece being judged. A label can be added after the competition if they do not want identifiers , or cover it if you want to have it on prior to the competition.

most venues have specific rules about labels- but i think they expect them to be there- you should label every quilt you make.
but check with show's- display opportunities to see if they want the label to be located in a certain area, or want it a certain size- sometimes (at judged shows) you have to put on your label- then cover it with a different one-
if the venue has no expectations just make the label the way you want it.

    Ditto!
Usually there's no problem with a label being there. I take a well pressed piece of fabric, with the edges foldedin and pressed. Then hold it in place with safety pins.

Best to check the rules and/or the competition's contact person to clarify, as the rules for each show can differ.

Definately put a label on it with all your information on it. Just take another piece of dark fabric, write label cover on it and stitch it over the name label. You don't want to end up on www.lostquilt.com.

At our county fair quilt show, we put our labels on our quilts and then the label is covered with a piece of paper so the maker is not identified during the judging. After the judging is over the paper is removed so the maker is identified. But just in case I would check with the local judges or the local committee. I would definitely put a label on it and then cover it with another piece of fabric as someone else stated for sure, if you aren't sure about the rules.

that's what they did with my quilt at the local fair last year. I wouldn't want to enter a quilt with some identification on it. You never know how things can get misplaced.
