The flower pops already. I don't think it needs anything. That being said, you must have reservations about it. Will this quilt be a gift or will it live with you? If it's a gift, how often will you see it once it's given? Will it bother you if and when you see it in the future?

Before I read the responses, I would like to say...."Please don't sew around the star". The feather stitching is beautiful. The star is enough for that size block. I really do not like quilts that can stand-up on their own. IMHO!

I agree. There is no reason to overquilt this top. You have done a very lovely job with the feathers in the sashing. I have always preferred the look of hand quilting which has always been my guide. I think it is best to have the piecing of the quilt be the STAR and the quilting support and not detract from the beauty of the pieced top. Good Luck

I like enough quilting to keep things together if washed a lot, but not so much as to be stiff. If the quilt was mine, I would stop with what you've done. I know it's just me but I don't particularly like the SITD method. I like my quilts to be used with either side up and I don't like to see each block outlined on the back, competing with my good quilting. I don't piece my backs unless I use it as a design element. I almost always use a quilting thread that will stand out, especially if the fabric is kind of plain. This really makes a double sided quilt. Ironically, some people I have gifted quilts to prefer the back, because it appeals to them more. Whatever works! Just please use my quilts.
